GPS helps wireless communications builder recover stolen vehicle

Figure_8.1.2-195x133“We use Track What Matters for several things,” says Debbie Gion, HR/Office Manager of Trusty Construction. The Lewisville, Texas-based company specializing in wireless communications construction, installation and maintenance, uses both GPS Asset Trackers and GPS powered units to keep a close eye on its’ employees vehicle usage and driving habits. “It’s been very beneficial in helping us verify our employee time sheets and to let employees know that we’re watching and that we require honesty from them,” she says. The extra safety resulting from these measures has even helped Trusty Construction keep its insurance coverage.

In some cases the GPS units attached to the vehicles have helped the company locate vehicles taken off the lot by disgruntled employees. The most dramatic vehicle recovery incident, however, involved an outright theft. “We actually had a trailer stolen,” explains Gion, “but fortunately we were able to track exactly where it was. We met the police at that location and recovered the trailer.”

Gion notes that GPS tracking has also come to the rescue in other ways: “We had a call from an employee who had just wrecked. We asked him where he was and he said, ‘The highway.’ We had OnStar on that truck but they wouldn’t reply to our call, so we called Track What Matters and they were able to help us figure out where the vehicle was.”

That level of customer service impresses Gion as a major factor that helps Track What Matters stand out. “Customer service is huge, because we don’t get it these days. But Track What Matters really treats you like a human being — it’s very nice.” Gion would heartily recommend Track What Matters to other companies: “I had no idea it would be such a beneficial tool in so many ways.”
